Sound Painting
In this experiment with sound painting, music and movement of the paint brush work together to create an immersive display. Through improvisation, both sound and color fill their respective canvases, each stroke and color matched by its own unique sound. Where there is space on the page, there is space in the sound produced. As the canvas fills with color and they begin to mix together, the sonic texture becomes more dense. The result is a swirling environment of color and sound, each a direct reflection of the other. In this way, our ears can perceive the shapes and colors we are taking in as the listener and observer.
